PIE CRUST - one crust
Cut 1/3 c plus 1 T shortening into 1 c flour mixed with 1/2 tsp salt. Sprinkle with cold water, 1 T at a time, until moistened. Roll dough between 2 pieces of waxed paper until 1/8" thick. Place inpie tin and work out all air bubbles. Flute edges.
For a baked shell - bake in 450 degree oven until golden brown - 5 to 10 minutes.
For a custard pie - full crust with filling and bake according to filling recipe.
