CREAM CHEESE PRETZEL DESSERT
Crust: 2 c crushed pretzels 3/4 c butter, melted 2 T sugar
Filling: 8 oz cream cheese 8 oz Cool Whip, thawed 1 c sugar
Topping:
2 c boiling water 6 oz pkg strawberry jello 16 oz frozen strawberries, thawed
*raspberry jello and fruit can be substituted for strawberries
1. In a large bowl, combine the pretzels, butter and sugar. Press into ungreased 9x13. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes. Cool completely.
2. In a large mixing bowl, beat cream cheese and sugar until smooth. Stir in whipped topping. Spread over pretzel crust. Cover and refrigerate until chilled.
3. For topping, in a small bowl, dissolve gelatin in boiling water. Add thawed but still cold fruit. Carefully pour over filling. Cover and refrigerate for 4-6 hours or until firm. Cut into squares.
*to avoid the cream cheese changing color, add jello after partially set.
